OUCC Statement On The Ontario Government's Review Of The University Funding Formula

The Ontario University and College Coalition (OUCC) is made up of the CFS-Ontario, CUPE Ontario, OCUFA, OFL, OPSEU, OSSTF, PSAC, Unifor, and USW. The OUCC recently issued an important statement and press release on the Ontario government's funding model for post secondary education.

The OUCC is "...calling for a funding formula that ensures high quality and accessible learning while fostering good jobs in the university sector." The OUCC further argues that "the formula must guarantee that...higher education institutions remain strongly public." The OUCC released these principles in response to the Government of Ontario's announcement that it will be reviewing the university funding formula over the coming year.
