The work of the Food Bank Committee relates to the administration and dispensation of the allotted resources to aid the Local's members in the event of unexpected financial shortages. Committee members decide upon the disbursement of food bank resources to applicants who have experienced circumstances that have affected their ability to purchase food for themselves and/or their dependents.
For the 2014-15 academic year, GTAs will no longer receive a one-time payment in November and/or March and/or July – commonly known as the “lump sum”. Instead, the amount of the “lump sum” will be divided evenly between your monthly paycheques. There is no reduction in the overall pay for GTAs.
